Today is the 5-year anniversary of my beautifully successful kidney transplant.
Five years ago today my donor, Rose, went into an operating room at The University of Chicago Medical Center and had a surgeon remove her left kidney, while just a room away a different surgeon prepared me to receive it. Rose went home two days later and I went home a day after her, ready for an abundant new life.
Today, I have a very small scar on my lower tummy (where they put Rose’s kidney) and Rose’s scars are no longer visible. We have forged a bond for life – a bond we never had until I let the Universe know I needed a kidney.
On Feeling Worthy
I’ve written in the past about the challenge I faced in feeling worthy of this transplant. It took a while to understand that for Rose, her decision to donate was not about my worthiness to receive but rather the transformational power of giving. It was important for me to graciously accept her gift.
At the same time, I’ve worked very hard to let go of feelings that I am not worthy of such a generous gift. Thanks to the support of my wise friend, I’ve been able to do so. She shared with me, “The Essence of Worthiness,” and I wanted to share it with you today. I hope you’ll take from it something important for your own journey. That would be a great gift to me!
The Essence of Worthiness:
If you have ever felt a lack of worthiness, was there anything you could have done to be worthy or deserving?
This is a trick question, because WE ARE ALL Worthy.
The greatest gift we All have, Is our Divine Presence.
The Divine Light, God within.
Our Divine Breath.
We All have it, we are born with it.
It is Not, … “Are you Worthy?”
It is, … “DO you Feel Worthy?”
That is what is here to be recognized and acknowledged.
So today, I remind you of your worthiness, of your divine Presence,
The I AM Presence within you, and encourage you to release the very limited beliefs and visions of yourself.
One thing we share with all human beings, is the desire to feel loved and wanted by others.
This is especially present and emotionally expressed more so in Woman.
All the material and social privileges in the world are dampened and pretty much useless if we feel unloved, unwanted.
Ask any person today, which one they prefer.
Love or Unloved?
Wanted or Unwanted?
This is so often confused with the lack of worthiness.
Some people want to connect deeply with the divine, however keeping themselves at a distance.
Feeling and judging oneself as unworthy!
What we often forget is that, we are not just our minds and bodies.
We are also Souls that are connected and in constant contact with the divine.
So to be Attuned to your higher self is an essence that raises your awareness to more of who you are.
So keep on connecting and reconnecting until you master this .
Take CARE of those hovering feelings of lack.
There is more.
Use your judgment to better serve you, to cancel fault in others, to bring light into darkness and to empower your life.
As you reclaim your worthiness, spread your wings out wide. Be contagious!
Make sure to touch another and to remind them too, that they are worthy, whether they know it or not.
Give yourself a worthy day.
Know in your heart that you are more than worthy, affirm if you must, to support you.
I AM Worthy,
I AM A Woman or Man Of Worth.
I AM Divine.
Becoming an Organ Donor
In honor of this very special anniversary, it would mean so much to me if you would consider letting your family know your wishes if you’d like to be an organ donor. Signing the back of your driver’s license is a great first step, but it’s not legally binding if your family wanted to go against your wishes. Sign up electronically if your state has a program like Donate Life Illinois that enables you to make your decision binding.
Most importantly today, please join me in celebrating the gift of life in all its glory! Thank you for being a part of my life in such a special way – every one of you is important to me and part of this vibrant Community! Cheers to Life!
